Many people fail to realize the importance of consulting trained experts for boiler installations and planning. Boiler heating systems are one of the most important items to consider when it comes to designing residential buildings, factories, and offices. Any system set in place should be able to efficiently cope and support the demand and functionality of the property.
It’s not just about providing heat, but ensuring that water temperature and pressure can be controlled to the tenants’ liking and sustained, while remaining energy efficient.
If the system is oversized, it will lead to excessive fuel expenses. If undersized, heating may be insufficient especially during the winter.
At Northern Service Inc., we offer central boiler installation services for any capacity, configuration, and fuel type, whether you’re in a low-rise small commercial establishment, or a multi-level office building.
There are many ways to categorize boilers, whether by fuel type (solid, electric, oil, or gas boilers), capacity (measured in TPH or BTU), or configuration (see below). We employ union and factory-trained specialists to diligently perform all types of boiler installations.
Types of Boilers by Configuration
Steel Boilers make use of steel pipes that direct the flow of combustion gases, which come in contact with water to transfer heat. Steel boilers are generally subdivided into two types: fire-tube and water-tube.
Cast Iron Boilers
are made up of stacked sections of iron bolted together with each section having water and combustion gas passages. These are relatively compact and can be assembled in a room with a standard-sized doorway.
Tubeless Boilers use nested pressure vessels with water in between shells. Combustion gasses are sent into the inner vessels, transferring heat to water located outside of the vessels.
Packaged Boilers are called as such because they are manufactured and assembled in a factory and arrive at your doorstep in a neat package, ready to be hooked up to the rest of the system.
Finally, the condensing boiler redirects otherwise wasted heat from water vapor and condenses this to recover its latent heat. This heat is used pre-heat cold water before entering the boiler. Condensing boilers are most often used in small buildings or residential central boiler installation.
Aside from water, solid and gas boiler installation of different capacities and configurations, we give our clients a diverse line of installation services that range from chillers, cooling towers, and air conditioning, to EMS, and more.
As California’s Premiere Building & Plant Service Company, Northern Services Inc. also offers excellent boiler service contracts to complement our installation services.
